August 31, 2008

Breakfast, 12:00 p.m.

Light black cherry yogurt, and peanut butter on wheat toast.

Lunch, 3:15 p.m.

Turkey & cheese sandwich, cottage cheese, and grapes.

Snack, 5:30 p.m.

The last of the Triscuits.

Dinner, 8:00 p.m.

Cheese ravioli & frozen peas. I hate peas.

Snack, 10:45 p.m.

Nope, it's not mashed potatoes...it's..."pineapple" sherbet.

Snack, 11:30

Jon was eating baby carrots, so I had some too. My estimate is that it was more than 5, less than a dozen.

August 30, 2008

Breakfast, 11:45 a.m.

Berry bagel and light raspberry yogurt.

Lunch, 2:30 p.m.

This is NOT my lunch...this is the bowl of leftovers, which is about twice as much food as I ate. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have such a heavy lunch, especially so quickly after breakfast -- but Jon had to work, and he hadn't eaten, and if I don't make him eat he just won't. He'll work all day on an empty stomach and get a headache and whatever else. So, I made this because he really likes it.

Snack, 6:45 p.m.

Golden Delicious apple. I was so full from the lunch that I wasn't even hungry when I ate this. I'd just come home from the grocery store with a bunch of fruit, though, so I had to sample.

Dinner, 8:15 p.m.

The apple must have made me hungry, because it didn't take long before I really wanted some dinner. This is a skinless chicken breast, baked in a little paprika. The potatoes are sliced new potatoes cooked in a little butter, sprinkled with pepper.

Snack, 11:00 p.m.

Pineapple sherbet. It's not very pineapple-y. I can't figure out what it really tastes like, and it's not bad, it's just not pineapple.

Breakfast, 6:45 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast, and light black cherry yogurt.

Lunch, 11:15 a.m.

Leftover spaghetti and a breadstick. Photographed at 6:45 a.m. because I'm afraid someone will walk in on me photographing my lunch at work.

Snack, 3:00 p.m.

Remember puffed wheat cereal from toddlerhood? I do. I saw it at the store and had to buy it. It tastes about the way I remember, which is to say, flavorless with a vaguely styrofoamy texture. I'm pretty sure this is the only cereal I ever ate with milk. I may have to work up the courage to try that.

Snack, 4:15 p.m.

Turns out that puffed wheat isn't at all filling. I was starving again an hour after eating it. So, I boiled up some edamame and ate a piece of string cheese.

Dinner, 8:30 p.m.
NOT PICTURED: I ate entirely too much of a frozen cheese pizza. I also forgot to take a picture of it.

August 28, 2008

Breakfast, 9:30 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast, and light strawberry banana yogurt.

Lunch, 12:30 p.m.
NOT PICTURED: cottage cheese, peach slices, pasta salad, and a slice of cheese cake. There was a lunch after the opening convocation, but cafeteria chicken and mashed potatoes just didn't seem like a good idea, so...yeah. I'm still too embarrassed to take pictures at the college; I'm afraid the colleagues will think I'm nuts.

Snack, 3:30 p.m.

Berry bagel. Not toasted this time, because getting it out of the toaster last time was pretty unpleasant.

Dinner, 7:30 p.m.

Spaghetti with marinara sauce, garlic bread sticks, and mushrooms sautéed in butter and garlic salt. I know...most people put the shrooms in the sauce. Not me.

Snack, 10:30 p.m.

Triscuits.

Breakfast, 6:45 a.m.

That's right...I ate breakfast at 6:45 a.m. Having a day job sucks ass. Anyway, I ate the usual.

Lunch, 11:30 a.m.

Turkey & cheddar sandwich on wheat, string cheese, and a granola bar.

Snack, 4:00 p.m.

I was so hungry when I came home from school. I had a yogurt and some Triscuits. I also had a few cheese curds after I took the picture.

Dinner, 6:30 p.m.

I forgot to take the picture before eating. Oops. Anyway, I had 2 slices of Papa John's pizza. Jon and I both had rough days, so neither of us felt like cooking, and we haven't yet discovered a good delivery place...so we defaulted to pizza. And then only ate half of it, not being as hungry as we thought we were.

Snack, 11:30 p.m.

Whoever came up with the idea of flavored Triscuits was a genius.

August 26, 2008

Breakfast, 11:15 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast, and a banana.

Snack, 2:00 p.m.

Granola bar.

Lunch, 3:30 p.m.

Ham & Cheddar Lean Pocket
Snack, 6:30 p.m.

I shared this with Jon. We were out running errands, and we were starving. Well, I was...and I made Jon share with me.

Dinner, 7:30 p.m.

We were still out running errands, and we weren't close to finished, so we had dinner at Culver's. I had a cheeseburger basket.

Snack, 11:00 p.m.

More ice cream.
Breakfast, 12:00 p.m.

Banana and berry bagel. Definitely better toasted...except that it got stuck in my toaster, which was not fun.

Lunch, 3:30 p.m.

Leftover bad (but yummy) frozen things.

Snack, 6:00

A handful of generic wheat thins.

Dinner, 7:45 p.m.

Skinless chicken breast (in a coating made with mashed potato flakes, garlic salt, and a tiny bit of parmesan cheese), au gratin potatoes, and frozen peas. (Look, Mom! A vegetable!) This is particularly impressive because I do not like peas.

Snack, 9:00 p.m.

String cheese.

Snack, 11:45 p.m.

Reduced fat, no sugar added Cherry Vanilla ice cream. I miss the ice-cream factory days. I lost about 10 pounds that summer, AND I ate, on average, a pint of ice cream -- real ice cream, made with cream and sugar -- every day. It was awesome.

August 24, 2008

Breakfast, 12:30 p.m.

Wheat toast w/blackberry jam, and light raspberry yogurt.

Snack, 3:30 p.m.

Wheat Thins. I probably should have had lunch rather than a snack, because I was really hungry, but I was in the middle of writing something, so I didn't want to interrupt myself for too long.

Lunch, 4:30 p.m.

Mac-n-cheese.

Dinner, 8:00 p.m.

Johnsonville Beer Brat and 2 ears of corn.

Snack, 12:15 a.m.

Reduced fat, No Sugar Added Cherry Vanilla ice cream. Definitely not as good as the fatty, sugary stuff, but also not terrible. One thing I've noticed is that Sheboygan has a far inferior ice cream selection to Alaska. What's up with that? All the grocery stores up there had an amazing array of generics that included frozen yogurt, low fat ice cream, sorbet, and sherbet -- never mind the wonders of the name brands. Here, they barely even carry sorbet and etc. in the name brands, no matter what store I go to. It's bullshit.

August 23, 2008

Breakfast, 12:15 p.m.

The usual. The banana was a little mushy, but I survived.

Lunch, 4:15 p.m.

Stouffer's lasagne. I had gone out to the college for a "welcome, freshmen" ceremony so I couldn't eat until after 4:00. I was starving by the time I got home.

Snack, 7:30 p.m.

Generic Wheat Thins! I discovered my local Sav-a-Lot store the other day. I was at the post office, and I needed to pick up some lettuce (for the tacos) before going home. All the grocery stores I knew of were far, far away, and driving to them seemed silly given that gas is so damn expensive and I use so damn much of it to get to the college, which is 15 miles outside of town in the middle of fucking nowhere. (And I can't car pool; I have classes at 8:00 a.m. and the car pools don't leave that early. Hopefully, I will be among the 'I have a 10:00 a.m.' group next semester -- for my sanity, my sleep, and my gas budget.) But I digress. I was at the post office, and I didn't want to drive to a far away grocery store. I called Jon, had him do some Google magic, and found that the Sav-a-Lot was not too far away. Bang. I got a head of lettuce, plus a ton of other stuff (some grocery, some not), for a mere $36.

Dinner, 9:00 p.m.

I was holed up at my desk, actually writing, so Jon took it upon himself to make the dinner -- frozen chicken alfredo. It was very yummy, and I ate a smaller helping than normal because for once I actually thought about the fact that this is death on a plate. I still enjoyed it, though.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

After a midnight grocery shopping trip to Super Wal-Mart, I sampled my bagel purchase. I have to say, I was disappointed. Maybe it'll be better toasted, with butter -- but I was not impressed with the way it tasted straight out of the bag (my standard method for eating bagels).

August 22, 2008

Breakfast, 12:45 p.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast and a banana.

Snack, 3:00 p.m.

Light blueberry yogurt.

Lunch, 4:30 p.m.

Peanut butter sammitch, apple, and cottage cheese.

Dinner, 9:00 p.m.

Tacos and rice. The taco shells were the smallest ever. I ate four of them, but look at the plate -- it's half empty with THREE tacos and a side of rice on it. The tacos were filled with ground beef (made w/taco seasoning), lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheese. The rice came out of a box. My suggestion is that you not buy the Taco Bell brand shells, even though they're the cheapest...because they're rather tiny.

Snack, 12:30 a.m.

Raisins. I forgot how sticky they are.
