Door County, Day 5

Breakfast, 9:45 a.m.

A bowl of cereal.

Lunch, 1:30 p.m.

A pouch of Easy Mac. It's not as good as I remembered from my college days.

Snacks, afternoon

More candy. Bad Sig.

Dinner, 5:45 p.m.

Big Lare took us out to Sister Bay Bowl before we went over to the Peninsula Players for an evening of exquisite theatre. I had the "lite" portion of shrimp (meaning 5 instead of 8). Also a baked potato, and cottage cheese & peaches (instead of a salad). Yum.

Snack, 11:00 p.m.

I finished off the Turtle Sundae. As you can see, there wasn't a whole lot left.

Door County, Day 4

Breakfast, 9:30 a.m.

A bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Nothing like sugar for breakfast...

Lunch, 12:30 p.m.

Big Lare and I had chili and cheese curds at Mike's Port Pub. This is my favorite chili in the whole world.

Snack, 4:00 p.m.

Little Susan and I were in Sister Bay because she wanted to go to Tannenbaum...and since Tannenbaum is right across the street from the ice cream factory, we stopped by. I had a kid-sized scoop of Blue Moon. Little Susan refrained because she didn't want to spoil her dinner...but she did buy a pint for later. :)

Dinner, 5:30 p.m.

Chicken breast, hashbrowns, and toast. Also, blueberries and canteloupe (not pictured).

Snacks, afternoon & evening

I really need more self control. Having snacks just sitting on the table is dangerous. If it's in front of me, I eat it. That needs to stop.

Snack, 10:00 p.m.

Little Susan busted out her pint of Turtle Sundae and we each had a small dish. I'd say it was roughly the equivalent of a kid's cone, or maybe a little bigger...but definitely not as much cream as if I'd walked into the store and ordered a single scoop.

...and just for fun, here's a shot of the New Kids on the Block doll I found at a flea market today. It's Danny in all his mulleted glory. You can't see from this shoddy cell phone picture, unfortunately, but he's even got a long flowing rat tail! It's hot.

Door County, Day 3

Breakfast, 10:15 a.m.

A bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch...dry.

Snack, 1:45 p.m.

Cherry gelato from Double Delites (the place that used to be The Chocolate Chicken). It was kinda spendy, but Big Lare was hankering for ice cream.

Snack, 4:00 p.m.

Twix bar. I also had a few Wheat Thins, but I forgot to take a picture. I was starving after taking a long walk on the "beach." I say "beach" because most of the beach was under water, so it was more like wading than walking.

Dinner, 5:45 p.m.

Brat, potatoes, and fruit (blueberries and canteloupe).

Snack, 9:00 p.m.

A hunk of Milk Chocolate Toffee from the Confectionery. Yum.

July 26, 2009

Door County, Day 2

Breakfast, 10:30 a.m.

Big Lare took me to the Sandpiper for breakfast. I had ham and an order of hashbrowns.

Snack, 2:30 p.m.
NOT PICTURED: I stopped by the Door County Ice Cream Factory and had a single scoop of my favorite flavor, Harley Davidson -- orange ice cream with chocolate chips.

Snack, 5:30 p.m.

My mom and I found these at Walgreens. I had a few, but I thought they were nasty. She liked them and ate most of the bag -- she said they taste like Almond Joy.

Dinner, 6:30 p.m.

Roast, boiled potatoes, wax beans, and toast. I also had a few cherries.

Snack, evening

I spent the evening playing Rummikub with my parents...which necessitated sitting at the table. And there were snacks on the table -- yogurt-covered raisins and a candy dish.

July 25, 2009

Door County, Day 1

Breakfast, 11:30 a.m.

Glazed donut -- a gas station Krispy Kreme.

Snacks, afternoon & evening

My mom has this habit of leaving bowls of candy on the table when we're in Door County...and since I was sitting around with nothing to do, I ate some. A lot, to be honest.

Dinner, 6:45 p.m.

Hamburger and corn on the cob. We didn't have a pot big enough to boil the corn in so we had to break it into halves. I had 3 half-cobs.

Snack, 9:45 p.m.

Cherries. Yum.

July 23, 2009

Breakfast, 11:30 a.m.

Light raspberry yogurt & Banana Nut Cheerios.

Snack, 2:00 p.m.

Cherry pop tarts.

Dinner, 5:00 p.m.

Ravioli carbonara & corn (canned).

Snack, 8:15 p.m.

The last of the Banana Nut Cheerios.

Snack, 11:30 p.m.

Tortilla chips & nacho cheese.

July 22, 2009

Breakfast, 11:30 a.m.

Light strawberry yogurt and Banana Nut Cheerios.

Snack, 1:30 p.m.

Banana.

Dinner, 4:45 p.m.

Lunch-sized portion of chicken fettuccine alfredo (still didn't finish it), and 2 dinner rolls. (Jon didn't want his.)

Snack, 11:15 p.m.

Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

Light string cheese.

July 21, 2009

Brunch, 12:00 p.m.
NOT PICTURED: I met Kelly for lunch at El Camino. I had 2 beef tacos (hard shell), rice, and beans.

Snack, 3:30 p.m.

Light mixed berry yogurt.

Snack, 7:45 p.m.

Chocolate chip cookie.

Dinner, 9:00 p.m.

Nachos -- just chips, cheese, and hamburger.

Snack, 12:30 a.m.

Jon and I split these blackberries.

July 20, 2009

Breakfast, 12:00 p.m.

Light raspberry yogurt & Banana Nut Cheerios.

Snack, 4:15 p.m.

I had a work meeting in the afternoon. The plan was to pick Jon up after a meeting and head to Costco, and eat lunch/dinner at Costco. I was so hungry after the meeting -- which lasted longer than expected -- that I made Jon bring me a snack to eat in the car on the way. (Costco is a half hour drive from our place.)

Lunch/Dinner, 5:30 p.m.

Chicken bake & a berry smoothie. When did they stop serving chicken bakes in the foil wrapper? They're way too messy this way...

Snacks, 8:30 p.m.

You can't come home from Costco and not sample the fare...so I had a banana and a chocolate chip cookie. (Hey, we had a coupon. All those cookies only cost about $4...and they're Jon's. He'll eat about 80% of them.)

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

We popped in Slumdog Millionaire before bed -- Jon hadn't seen it yet -- and you can't have a movie without popcorn. We split a bag of microwave popcorn...it wasn't the super healthy cardboard-tasting kind, but it wasn't the gooey extra butter kind either. Just the standard stuff.

July 19, 2009

I spent the unphotographed days in Washington, D.C. doing some research at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum with Jillian. It was an amazing trip, and despite eating really bad-for-me restaurant food every day, I lost a few pounds from all the sweating and walking.

Breakfast, 11:45 a.m.

Light blueberry yogurt and Banana Nut Cheerios. I decided to be adventurous and buy some "exotic" cereal, but I shouldn't have wasted the money. I could get 3x the Honey Nut Cheerios at Costco for the same price, AND they taste better. The Banana Nut isn't bad...it just isn't good, either.

Lunch, 5:00 p.m.

I was out and about doing errands, and in the middle of picking out some wedding jewelry at Kohl's I all of a sudden felt like I was going to pass out, and then I realized, "Wow, I'm really hungry." Taco Bell was right next door, so... Anyway, I had 2 beef tacos and a Cinnamon Twist.

Snack, 7:30 p.m.

I expected there to be a lot more Skittles in a box this big. It was actually only the equivalent of maybe a pack and a half.

Dinner, 11:00 p.m.

So...whenever I have hot breakfast food at home, it's always for dinner. I'm not sure why that is. I guess because I'm too lazy to cook in the morning, but I have an affinity for bacon.
