Breakfast, 8:45 a.m.

The usual.

Lunch, 12:30 p.m.
NOT PICTURED: Today was the college's opening convocation, and they fed us when it was over. I had a slice of roast beef, rice, mashed potatoes, a roll, and a cherry dessert of some sort.

Snack, 4:00 p.m.

Baked Lays. (Yes, Erin, I'm still using the Thomson Reader -- teach what you know, I say.)

Snack, 7:30 p.m.

Chocolate milk...very chocolaty.

Dinner, 9:00 p.m.

Stroganoff flavored "Healthy Helper" (Hamburger Helper with wheat pasta and less sodium, I believe) and some canned corn. I was not a member of the Clean Plate club tonight.

Obviously, you know I'm creepy and keep up with your food blog. Thanks for the shout out. And, Thompson Reader isn't a bad text. It's much better than World of Ideas! Bleck.

I'm using it in a different way than we did. I'm required to assign my freshmen to write narratives, compare and contrast essays, definition essays, etc...six of those suckers. So, I've found readings in the Thomson Reader that illustrate the different types, use them as models, and supplement with handouts that explain the different rhetorical modes. I do use some of the same readings that Trish picked for us, though. The books the college suggested I use to teach the class were just too awful. :)
