Breakfast, 11:45 a.m.

Donut and light mixed berry yogurt. Not the healthiest, I know...Jon bought donuts when we were at the grocery yesterday.

Snack, 2:30 p.m.

Goldfish crackers.

Dinner, 6:15 p.m.

Those are tacos. I know...they don't look like tacos, right? I'd been craving Mexican all day but my car was in the shop so we couldn't go to the Mexican place we usually go to. There's another Mexican restaurant within walking distance of our house, but I've never gone in because the booths look like McDonald's booths and it just doesn't look very inviting. Anyway, I *really* wanted Mexican so we decided to venture down to Guadalajara despite my misgivings about the atmosphere. The food was OK, but I don't think I'll be going back. Thing is, they serve authentic Mexican there...and I'm a Midwesterner, so I prefer the Americanized stuff. Nothing against Guadalajara, it's just not my [lame American] style.

Snack, 9:30 p.m.

Caramel apple pop. I tried the Sherry Simpson strategy of eating a sucker while writing, but unfortunately it didn't do any miracles for me. I wrote about 2 sentences in 2 hours. No good.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

Jon and I split these strawberries. Yum.

Good & Plenty. I inherited my love of black licorice from my grandpa. This snack came about because Jon and I started to make dinner and realized that our onions had gone bad, so we needed to make an emergency trip to the grocery store. We were there a long time because our grocery list was pretty long, so I was ravenous by the time we got to the checkout line...and then we still had to cook...so...yeah.

Dinner, 9:30 p.m.

Goulash.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

Caramel apple sucker. Sherry bought a bag of these on our way back to Anchorage from Homer after the writers conference, and she gave me a bunch before she dropped me off.

Alaska Eatin'

I spent the last two weeks in Alaska. I went up for the Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference and stayed to visit friends. I took a lot of photos in Alaska, but very few of them were of food. The summary version of my eating is that I barely snacked at all, but my meals were, on the whole, not healthy. I had two of the things I've been craving since I left (Milano's, Moose's Tooth, and La Mex), but didn't have an opportunity for others (Arctic Roadrunner, Bear's Tooth, and chicken cordon bleu balls from the Blue Fox). Anyway, for what it's worth, here are the pitifully few photos I took:
