Breakfast, 8:30 a.m.

Banana and light raspberry yogurt.

Lunch, 1:00 p.m.

Philly steak & cheese Lean Pocket.

Snack, 5:45 p.m.
Not pictured: I had a pack of Good-n-Plenty that I picked up in line at the store. I don't know how to describe the size to you, other than to say the packaging looked like a milk carton but was maybe half the size? I need to carry the camera more. It's harder these days because my new purse is smaller, and it's a big pain in the butt to squeeze everything in, so the camera is typically what gets left behind.

Dinner, 8:00 p.m.

I didn't eat all that corn. :) I had two ears, Jon had two ears. I also had a bowl of Campbell's vegetable beef soup. We realized, once we started shucking the corn, that we basically had nothing to eat with the corn, so...this is what we came up with. We need to go grocery shopping.

Snack, 11:00 p.m.

Grapes.

Breakfast #1, 7:30 a.m.

Light mixed berry yogurt. Halfway through my yogurt, I remembered that we were having a breakfast meeting at faculty workshop, so I didn't eat the banana I'd also taken out. (And I staged the picture -- I took a fresh yogurt out of the fridge and photographed it solo.)

Breakfast #2, 8:30 a.m.
I wasn't terribly hungry since I'd already eaten the yogurt, but I also didn't want to be the picky new professor who was turning her nose up at the cafeteria, so I had 2 strips of bacon and a powdered sugar donut.

Lunch, 12:00 p.m.
The college fed us again...this time, it was a ham and turkey sammitch, potato salad (which I couldn't stomach), fruit salad, a cookie, and a bag of chips.

Dinner, 5:00 p.m.
Following faculty workshop was an event called "The President's Picnic." There was a TON of food, but I only sampled a few of the dishes. I had beef tips, red beans and rice, noodles of some sort (there was cheese and tomato sauce involved as well), lemon fluff, and a baby slice of watermelon. The food was quite good.

Snack, 10:00 p.m.

The last of the ice cream.

Breakfast, 8:00 a.m.

Banana and light strawberry yogurt.

Lunch, 12:00 p.m.
Not pictured -- I decided not to bring my camera to all of these "welcome to our college" events because I don't want my colleagues to think I'm crazy right off the bat. I was at faculty orientation all day, and they fed us lunch. It was a chicken salad sammitch (I choked down about half; I hate anything with mayo...I don't know why), fruit salad, pasta salad, a cookie, and a bag of chips.

Dinner, 7:00 p.m.

What passes for goulash here. I really like it, and it's easy to make, but it is decidedly not goulash in the traditional sense.

Snack, 10:30 p.m.

Ice-cream. Yes, I eat it directly out of the carton. That's bad, I know.

Breakfast, 10:30 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast and a banana.

Lunch, 12:45 p.m.

Michelena's Budget Gourmet fettuccine alfredo.

Snack: 3:30 p.m.
Not pictured: I had appetizers at a "new faculty reception" at my college. I didn't eat much because (1) I was nervous (2) People wouldn't leave me alone so that I could take a few seconds to eat and (3) What little I did eat wasn't that good. I don't remember what I had, though.

Dinner, 7:30 p.m.

Chicken Parmigana from Geno's. I was hoping for more chicken and less pasta, but so it goes. Also...is it unusual for the chicken to be broken up into little chunks? Isn't this dish usually a chicken breast on top of a bed of pasta? It doesn't matter, because it was good (even though I had to dig for the chicken). I'm just wondering.

Snack, 11:00 p.m.

Grapes.

August 17, 2008

Breakfast, 12:15 p.m.

Banana, and wheat toast w/peanut butter.

Lunch, 2:30 p.m.

Philly steak & cheese Lean Pocket. I know, the label
says something about artichokes...but it's an ad for another
flavor. I'm not quite that adventurous.

Snack, 4:30 p.m.

I forced Jon to come swimming with me at the lake -- it was
hot today. I was hungry after swimming, so I had 2 pretzel rods
and a cup of yogurt.

Dinner, 7:30 p.m.

Mmmm...Johnsonville brat, and sweet corn. I had one
brat but three ears of corn...and a lot of salt and butter.

Snack: 9:00 p.m.
My allergies were acting up, so I needed to go somewhere
air conditioned to clear my system out. (It didn't work; as
soon as we got home to our unfiltered air, my face started to
leak again.) We tried to go to the bowling alley, but they were
both closed. So, we found a place called "Randall's" -- it's a lot
like Culver's. I had a carmel apple sundae, and took a picture
with my phone (no camera; didn't anticipate eating). I can't
figure out how to get the picture OFF of the phone, though, so...

Breakfast, 11:45 a.m.

Mixed berry yogurt and peanut butter on wheat toast.

Lunch, 4:00 p.m.

This is a much bigger/heavier meal than I'd normally eat for
lunch, but it was Jon's first day of work at his new job, and to
celebrate -- and to ensure that he ate something before going
to work -- I said I'd make whatever meal he wanted before his
shift at 5:00. This is what he wanted. It's cheese ravioli in a
carbonara sauce (that's alfredo + bacon -- bad, I know, but so
yummy). We also had mashed potatoes, but I fucked them up.
They were runny because I put in too much milk.

Snack, 8:00 p.m.

Uh-oh...look what I found at the store. Best (and worst)
discovery ever. I can't help myself...I'm living on the lake now.
There has been a great deal of nostalgia lately as a result. And,
this food is the epitome of summer on the lake. Unless you spent
Door County summers with me you wouldn't understand, but
the point is this: resistance is futile. Ingrid, Christy, Courtney,
Danny and Nick would most likely agree.

Dinner, 10:45 p.m.

More nostalgia. This stuff reminds me of my grandma. We
always had it at her house...never the regular Campbell's
vegetable beef. I used to think there was some sort of magic
in Blair because my grandma made alphabets come out of the
can. It took me a long time to get that it was an entirely
different kind of soup. :)

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

This was my right-before-bed snack. I know I shouldn't
eat right before I go to bed...and certainly not while I'm
in bed (reading, not sleeping). It was calling me to me, and
I was hot and cranky so I gave in. At least I'm eating fruit
for snacks now, right?

August 15, 2008

Breakfast, 11:30 a.m.

Strawberry banana yogurt, and wheat toast with blackberry
preserves.

Lunch, 3:00 p.m.

Frozen Stouffer's meat lasagna.

Dinner, 8:30 p.m.
Not pictured: We went to the Highland House. I had two
enchiladas (one beef, one cheese) and rice and beans.

Snack. 11:45 p.m.

Black grapes. They were way cheaper than the green and
red ones...and I think they taste better, too.
