Ben & Jerry's Cinnamon Buns. Oh my goodness. So good, so bad for me. My fish is jealous that I got to eat this.

Peanut butter on wheat toast, and a banana.

Snack, 2:30 p.m.

"Deb's Famous Chili" -- i.e., the recipe Ingie found on the Interweb. It's very, very yummy.

Breakfast, 12:15 p.m.

Banana and blueberry Special K bar

Lunch, 3:30 p.m.

Chili & rice. I learned this trick in Hawaii. Turns out that this is also an Alaskan trick...big shock, though. Alaska and Hawaii are pretty much the same, except for the weather.

Snack, 7:15 p.m.

Freeze dried pears.

Dinner, 9:45 p.m.

Look, Mom! A vegetable! Bonus: it's green. Yup...chicken and boiled salted soybeans. Not a bad little dinner. Adding some mashed potatoes would have made it better, though.

Peanut butter on wheat toast and peach yogurt.

Lunch, 11:30 a.m.

Turkey sandwich, Baked Doritos, strawberry applesauce, and a granola bar.

Snack, 3:30 p.m.

Blueberry Special K bar. Yum, yum, yum. I think these are my new favorites.

Snack, 7:45 p.m.

Dried berry mix -- it's got cranberries, blueberries, and cherries. Not bad.

Dinner, 11:00 p.m.

Good: Eating whole grain pasta. Bad: Having a big plate of pasta late at night. Worse: Covering it in Parmesan cheese -- we're talking tons...you can see some of the gobs. I haven't done this in a long, long time...but ohmygod. So yummy.

Announcement: I am participating in a student-led dietary study at my college. The school is really big on "Student as Practitioner" projects, meaning that students don't just sit in the classroom and learn out of books...they actually do stuff. This means that the faculty often get recruited to be the guinea pigs. For this study, I'm going to be paired with a student who is taking a nutrition course taught by a basketball coach, and this student is going to have access to my diet for a week. Then this student, who I probably know (or who at least knows half of my students since the school is so damn small), will know just how poorly I eat and will try and tell me how to fix my diet. Bah. At least it'll be something to put in my tenure file: "Encouraged college's SAP objective by participating in student study for Nutrition 101." Of course, that means I'll have to do a paper version of this blog for that week too, because no way am I giving a student this URL. AND, I'll have to record all of my diet sodas, too. How embarrassing. Anyway...

Breakfast, 9:45 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast and strawberry yogurt.

Lunch, 11:30 a.m.
It was faculty meeting day, which meant eating a food services-catered lunch with my colleagues, and not photographing it because I don't want them to know that I'm neurotic. I had a tiny little bit of salad (the lettuce was kinda wilty, and since I don't like salad in the first place...well...ick), a cup of vegetable soup, two breadsticks, and a cookie.

Dinner, 5:30 p.m.

It was a long day. Faculty meeting, meeting with the Great Lakes Writers Festival director, mentor meeting. I was starving by the time I finally left school and drove back to Sheboygan -- way too starving to wait another hour to eat, which is what would have happened if I had cooked. So...I had Culver's. Again. This is a bowl of chili and an order of onion rings -- a delicious and filling meal for under $5. Gotta love that.

Snack, 8:00 p.m.

Freeze dried apples. Yummy, but about as un-filling as it gets.
Snack, 10:45 p.m.

I was really hungry, so I ate almost this whole container of my mom's home-made applesauce. It was in my freezer from when she came to visit.

Breakfast, 6:45 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast and blueberry yogurt.

Lunch, 11:30 a.m.

Strawberry applesauce, honey oat granola bar, turkey sammitch, and Baked Ruffles Sour Cream & Cheddar. (Yum!)

Snack, 5:00 p.m.

I was real hungry by the time I got home from school and standing in line at the City Clerk's office for half an hour...so I ate the leftover pizza.

Dinner, 8:15 p.m.

Costco lasagna. Very yummy, very bad for me. At least I banked over an hour of Wii Fit exercise today...

Snack, 10:30 p.m.

Apple. I kind of forgot to photograph it until I was almost finished with it.

October 28, 2008

Breakfast, 10:00 a.m.

Peanut butter on wheat toast and peach yogurt.

Lunch, 1:30 p.m.

Baked Lays, strawberry applesauce, yogurt granola bar, and a turkey sammitch.

Dinner, 6:30 p.m.

Mushroom pizza from Papa John's -- Tuesday is 50% off night as long as you order carryout. We are *so* lazy about food. This pizza-once-a-week thing has got to stop. I will say this, though: living in Sheboygan, we eat out far less than we did in Anchorage...mostly because there's no place worth going here. :(

*There must have been a snack somewhere in here, but I don't remember what it was or when it was. Oops.
