On hiatus.

I'm going to be visiting my sister in Prague for the next two weeks, and the odds that I'll take food pictures regularly are pretty slim. I'll pick up blogging when I'm back in the States -- Jan. 12.

Oh...I have taken pictures for the last few days, but I've been too busy to put them up. Here's the summary version: I ate very poorly. The only good-for-me thing I ate was some baby carrots.

CHRISTMAS EVE

Breakfast, 11:00 a.m.

The usual.

Afternoon Snacks

Gingerbread man and kringla. I love holiday baking.

Dinner, 5:30 p.m.

Meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberries, corn, lefse, and pistachio salad. It's definitley not as elaborate as if we'd been at the big Christmas gathering at grandma's, but it was still pretty dang good. Still, I'm annoyed. If I had known that I wouldn't be flying to Prague until the 28th, I could have made it to the big celebration in Blair. Grrrr.

Evening Snacks

A few handfulls of party mix, krumkakke, and leftover pistachio salad...and...I'm not sure what that candy thing is called, but they're really good. It's Rice Krispies, peanut butter, and mini marshmallow goodness.

Late Night Snack, 12:30 a.m.

After all the junk I ate, I wanted something healthy. So did Jon. And he wouldn't stop screwing around while I was trying to take pictures of my apple, so...fuckit. This is what I ended up with.

December 23, 2008

Breakfast, 11:00 a.m.

Light strawberry kiwi yogurt, peanut butter on whole wheat toast, and cranberry juice.

Snack, all day...

My mom brought a tub of goodies with her. I had this ginger bread man...and another gingerbread man. And a kringla. And I think I also had krumkakke... Damn my mother and her Christmas baking.

Dinner, 6:00 p.m.

OK, yes, the picture is recycled from yesterday...but I *did* eat Culver's again. That's what my dad wanted for dinner. I forgot to take a new picture, but since I had the same exact thing, what's the difference, right? The only addition is that my mom and I split a Mint M&M Concrete Mixer. It was pretty tasty.

Snack, 11:30 p.m.

Apple. Also a recycled photo. I've noticed that my photo taking goes to shit when life departs from the routine...and having my parents in my apartment on Christmas is certainly a departure.

December 22, 2008

Breakfast, 10:00 a.m.

Raspberry yogurt and wheat toast with peanut butter.

Lunch, 2:00 p.m.

Chesseburger and chili. It was a rough day, what with the airline snafu and all, so I thought I deserved it. The shitty part is, I was so pissed about the airline -- and then my parents showed up in the middle of my lunch -- that I didn't even enjoy this.

Dinner, 6:30 p.m.
NOT PICTURED: thin crust sausage & mushroom pizza from Faye's. My dad discovered this place last time he was in town and, despite it being -5 degrees, he wanted to go there...so we went out.

Snack, 11:30 p.m.

Granola bar. (And Leslie's manuscript.)

Snack, 2:00 a.m.

Apple.

December 21, 2008

Breakfast, 12:45 p.m.

Light raspberry yogurt and peanut butter on wheat toast.

Snack, 4:00 p.m.

Granola bar.

Lunch/Dinner, 7:45 p.m.

Chicken pasta bake -- this is so good. There's even spinach in there! It tastes like it should be on the menu at Romano's...not even kidding.
Snack, 10:30 p.m.

Carmel "sucker" -- really, it's just a chocolate on a stick. Jon brought this home from work. It was pretty good.

Dinner, 12:00 a.m.

Campbell's vegetarian vegetable soup.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

Coconut sorbet.

December 20, 2008

Breakfast, 12:30 p.m.

Light cherry yogurt and wheat toast with peanut butter.

Lunch, 4:30 p.m.

6" turkey sub & Doritos.

Snack, 8:00 p.m.

1/2 Costco muffin

Dinner, 10:30 p.m.

Spaghetti w/Parmesan cheese.

Snack, 2:00 a.m.

Lemon sorbet.

December 19, 2008

Breakfast, 1:00 p.m.

Breakfast at 1:00?! Yup, it must be winter break...

Snacks, 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

String cheese at 3:30 (but I forgot to take a picture of it in the afternoon), granola bar at 7:00.

Dinner, 8:45 p.m.

Little Susan's Famous Hamburger Hot Dish: a pound of hamburger, 2 cubed potatoes, some diced onion, a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a can of veg. beef soup. The easiest thing ever to make, and also quite tasty (though not visually appealing, I admit). I did not actually eat all of this -- I ate a little more than half. See, I made this in the afternoon so Jon would have something to eat before he went to work (because if I don't make him eat, he often doesn't bother until after work...which is bad). I heated up the leftovers when I was ready to eat dinner, and then Jon ate what I didn't -- he was home because he ended up not going to work after all; there was a blizzard, so the Christmas party Jon was supposed to bar tend for got canceled right as he was walking out the door. Good-bye, $200 gratuity... :(

Snack, 1:00 a.m.

More rich and creamy frozen yogurt. Yes, I eat directly out of the tub. Yes, I know that's a very bad habit.

December 18, 2008

Breakfast, 12:30 p.m.

The usual.

Lunch, 4:00 p.m.

Leftover shrimp alfredo and a glass of chocolate milk.

Dinner, 9:15 p.m.

Goulash, with blackberries for dessert.

Snack, 11:00 p.m.

This is a Costco muffin -- caramel chocolate pecan something. I split it with Jon.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

Frozen yogurt. It's very rich and very creamy. The packaging does not lie.

December 17, 2008

Breakfast, 12:30 p.m.
I must have forgotten to take a picture -- but breakfast was yogurt and peanut butter toast, per usual.

Snack, 2:15 p.m.

Granola bar.

Snack, 6:15 p.m.
Another granola bar -- this time a Special K granola bar. I was hungry, and Jon and I had decided to go out to dinner...but we had also decided to do some shopping first, so...I had a snack.

Dinner, 9:30 p.m.

"A little shopping" turned into a shit-ton of Christmas shopping...so dinner was very late, and I was very starving. This is Chili's Shrimp Alfredo. Yum.

Snack, 2:00 a.m.

I love vacation! I can have a snack at 2:00 a.m., and that's still 2-3 hours before bed time. :)

December 16, 2008

Breakfast, 12:30 p.m.

Yogurt and toast. Nothing new here.

Snack, 3:30 p.m.

Blueberry Special K Granola bar -- yum.

Lunch, 5:30 p.m.

6" turkey sub on Italian Herbs and Cheese bread, w/American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on the side. Also, Doritos. And Diet Coke.

Dinner, 10:15 p.m.

Chili, crackers, and cran-grape juice.

Snack, 1:30 a.m.

The last of the ice-cream.

December 15, 2008

Breakfast, 12:30 p.m.

The usual.

Snack, 2:30 p.m.

Jon's grandma sent him gingerbread men. They're *so* good -- very soft, unlike my mom's (which are still good, by the way).

Lunch, 3:00 p.m.

Whole grain mac-n-cheese.

Dinner, 9:30 p.m.

Deb's Famous Chili.

Snack, 11:45 p.m.

Pineapple.
